Laptop Users : Questions

Don't have one , just a desktop at the moment thinking of one in the future .

How fast is yours - how many GB's - is speed a top 3 feature
(1.5ghz or more)

Is name brand important or all basically the same ?

Do you have both a desk top and lap top and use both ?
(If you have both which do you use more)

Do you use it for playing movies or cd's or
mostly just web surfing?

tnx

I don't know much about laptops or computers. My work just bought me a "acer" Travel mate. It has 80gb hdd, dvd/cd-rw combo, 512 mb ddr2, 802.11 b/g wireless lan.....I have had it for about a week and it seems to be working great. I'm not sure about the price, but I think it was a little over $1000

Speed is #3 on my list of important features. Load up on memory (1), and go with a Intel Centrino (2) laptop. All the hardware is tested to work together and be as efficient as possible to extend battery life.

I have a 1.8ghz Dell, 1gb ram, 80gig hd with wireless. I particularly like Dell because of their level of service after the sale. I have a laptop and desktop, use both...but use the laptop more. Use it for work and web surfing.

I use a HP laptop for internet and a powerbook g4 for work.
Just be sure to get one with plenty of RAM. That's the key. All the comps are plenty fast enough if you load up on RAM. Maybe a nice video card to.
I only use laptops. I'll never go back to a desktop.
