Las Vegas

I am planning my first extended stay in Las Vegas this fall and I was wondering what are some of the points of interest that you guys feel are a must?

Also: What casinos seem to have the more favorable major US sports odds?

Any "beginners guide" to Vegas info is much appreciated.

i'm jealous, we didn't make the trip this year but have gone a few times, each trip for a week.....people always tell us that's too long lol but i hate the long flight so i'd rather just be there long enough to forget how uncomfortable it was

here's a great msg board that we use a lot when we're planning a trip

what do you mean by extended stay?

More than a month

If so the strip can be a bit daunting, I mean its great if you are just in for 7 days with your friends but actually being there is hectic

I found a little more solace and felt a bit more like a local moving out to the boulder highway area (and even then its only a free 30 minute busride back to the strip)

I found the people there to be a little bit more interesting, I mean at the belagio you don't get the usual degenerates that are there day in and day out where their rent is dependent on a bet. Its quite entertaining

plus you can get really nice apartments for a reasonable price

I've also stayed in Henderson too, which wasn't so bad and yep as mentioned above I tried baller style to stay in the strip, but after 7 days its tough,

As far a prices go for odds, you are not going to get the same amount of value you get on online books obviously and jumping from casino to casino can be a daunting task. Most are owned by the same company so often everyone uses the same odds

anyways hope this helps, this is just my bias of course, every personality is different

If you go during the nba season and want to bet on the Celtics remember you can't at Harrah's properties since they have an owership state in the team, same goes for the Palms and Sacramento but I'm sure that's pretty obvious. I prefer the casino's that give you drink tickets when you bet rather than waiting for a girl to come by, especially when it's busy it can take too long. I really enjoyed the Wynn for watching and betting on games, the sports book at the Bellagio is pretty nice as well. Osaka sushi is great, they have two locations one in Vegas and one in Henderson.
