Lawrence Taylor arrested for rape

http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/n...ory?id=5167613

Hall of Fame linebacker Lawrence Taylor was arrested early Thursday after being accused of rape at a hotel in Montebello, N.Y., police said.

Authorities in Ramapo, N.Y., have not released details in their investigation of Taylor, saying only that the incident allegedly occurred in the Holidome Hotel.

According to a press release, additional information will be provided at a news conference Thursday afternoon.

Taylor, who starred for the New York Giants for 13 seasons, was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1999. He has battled drug addiction and last November was charged in Florida with leaving the scene of an accident

not saying in this case but sometimes its scary how some females can scream rape and most of the time the male counterpart will be considered guilty. A friends of a friends of friends just had it happened to him..both of them drunk, next morning chick screams rape and now he's in trouble and has to defend himself.

problem for athletes:

do you A. get married, but miss out on all the groupies that will bang you because of who you are B. stay single but run the risk of fathering kids or getting accused of things like this because women are looking for money and attention

Saying that something is very sad news is not synonomous with having someone already convicted.

I'm certainly not Johnny High Moral Ground by any means and do believe in "innocent until proven guilty" to the point that the alleged accused name shouldn't even allowed to be published (old days where newspapers had to be accountable, hard to do that now in this hyperbole news age) until convicted, BUT.....

if this is true ( the facts i read only)....

WTF was he ( a 50 something) doing with a 15 yr old in first place..????!!!!!!

A rapist? ...remains to be seen....but if she's 15, he's now a 1st ballot member to the WORST JUDGEMENT HALL OF FAME! Inexcusable

oh.....and the old "she looks 18" argument doesn't hold water here either....if he's 30 maybe.....50 plus...nada.

If he "was with her" in any manner, yea, it's kind of sad Chris, don't ya think.

note: statement not to be misconstrued in any form or manner as to be remotely agreeing with Leaf.

Exactly. Why even put yourself in the position where this can happen.
