"Lay the Favorite"

just spent last 4 hours reading this front to back, such a wild and exhillerating memoir

The author, Beth Raymer, after months as an in-home stripper and running a syndicate of amateur porn sites, skipped off to Vegas and finagled a job as a cocktail waitress into a runner for a professional sports gambler, before finding her way down in Curacao working across the street from Pinnacle at ASAP (offfshore book)

very well-written, one of the most accessible modern non-fiction novels i've read in a few years, i highly recommend it

some of the characters in the book take form of a number of CM posters here

maybe you could contact her Jack and invite her for a quick session in the basement, answering questions

I am currently in Panama with "Bernard Rose", the owner of ASAP and one of the characters highlighted in the book.

Yes, Bernard probably tips the scales at around 320 but is one of the funniest and nicest guys you will ever meet. He has been a good friend of my partner Larry for many years and is an integral part of the circle of friends that I have made down here.
