Lazy Tuesday in Panama City

[The Judge]

Tuesday is the one day of the week when I pretty much don't do anything but relax. I have been all over Panama City trying to find a daytime hangout where I can do just that with food and beverage readily available.

My favorite afternoon spot is one of the first places that I found here over three years ago and that is the rooftop pool above the seventh floor of Hotel Veneto. They have superb WiFi access and the hotel is smack dab in the middle of the city's banking disctrict and only about one kilometer from the waterfront highrise condo boom on Panama Bay.

Panama City is a freaking boom town and makes the Gold Rush look like an Easter egg hunt by comparison. In 2009. the economy in Panama grew by 13.5 % which was second in the world. The volume of construction that is underway here is extraordinary and I figured that I would snap a few pics and post them to demonstrate what I can see from this spot alone.

I'm certainly not the best of photographers and it is kind of a shitty overcast day but I think you'll get the picture. I just stood in one spot and took seven picks turning in a clockwise motion.

Look for the tower cranes at the tops of the buildings under construction. The heaviest concentration of new buildings can't really be seen from here but my guess is that there are somewhere around 80 tower cranes in operation within a 15 mile radius from where I am.

Yeah but in 30 minutes the sun will most likely come out again. It's probably 80 degrees and I'll end up with a little sunburn before I leave.
