I am still amazed that this country is now trillions of dollars in debt, they can't keep murderers, child molesters, the sludge of society off the street, kids going to school hungry each day, Americans living in the street and they are concerned about something that one chooses to do

This country has had more than 2500+ American young men and women killed in Iraq and in MrBushs words to give the Iraqis freedom but this same government is now taking away freedoms from Americans. Damn I thought Canada was screwed up with our politicians but have to say the US is alot worse, and you guys voted for Bush and the rest of these Republicans twice

If I was an american citizen I would be all over my politician in my area asking them, hell no demanding to know with all of the real problems in this country why is this even being debated. They just wasted time on something as stupid as this when there are bigger problems facing this country.

I truly hope the people of the US finally wake up and smell the coffee and when its time to go to the polls once again they get rid of as many Republicans as humanly possible.

Internet gambling or keeping rapists, child molesters, and murderers off the streets, yes I would rather they focus on the internet gamblers Truly glad to see they have their priorities straight, how about this instead of trying to take away peoples rights why don't you spend this time devising a plan to get your soldiers out of Iraq before anymore of them are friggen killed No wonder this world is going down the crapper, the supposed people who are suppose to be running our countries don't even bother with the real issues and worry about this crap

boo hoo hoo....

Camon homeboy, lets get realistic. The issues you bring up have nothing to do with internet gambling. Instead of whining about Iraq, try to see if there is anything you can do to help prevent the proposed legislation.

And get a local.

johnny did I not say if I was an American I would be all over my representation. Maybe you Americans who post here should be on the phone this afternoon to your local rep and demand they start doing their jobs which is protecting the rights of Americans and not trying to take them away from them Or you can continue to post on a sports forum and have nothing get done

You are right and more problems arise from this situation compared to online, especially for kids as they say this is one of the areas of what they are trying to protect with this legislation. Instead they will get their knee caps broken by the local guy instead when they lose

Rome is right. You couldnt be dealing this problem worse. When is the last time you have seen a legal or legislative argument won by saying "Well, what he did was worse than what I did." I doesnt happen. Quite frankly, there are worse things then Internet gambling, obviously, but if you subscribe to your theory, we should only punish rapist and murderers. There will alway be worse things.

Not to be devils advocate, but gambling is a huge problem, not that far removed from drugs and guns and other hot-point political issues. Try helping the legislature realize why internet gaming should be subject to reasonable regulation. Any ideas?

You have their job confused. Their job is to write law. Internet gaming is subject to the laws of our elected officals.

I feel very protected by my government, and I am a liberal, so that should tell you something.

If this passes, Organized crime will be throwing the biggest party ever seen

Unfortunately, these idiots can't see beyond their own noses to see what would be the results of their actions. Gambling is not going away, it will just be diverted to more unethical and dangerous entities running it and then they will long for the days of internet gambling
