A little input on a piece of memorabilia I have: Hold or Sale?

Mods, if you want to move this to main stree,t feel free to do so. Wasnt sure what was the best spot.

I have a 1992 Pirates team autographed Rawlings Bat. Leylend signed in the "best spot" where the players name usually is. The Bonds signature in full, very clear, and located about six towards the trademark and about 1 inch above the Leyland sig. Bought this bat in mid '92 thinking the Bucs had a good shot at the NL and even the World Series.

has 25 sigs in all with some other guys I liked from that team. No other hall of famers, but guys like Wakefield, Drabek, Van Slyke and others are included.

Gut feel, I will never get more for it than I can now and it isnt something I cant part with. I also think what ever # Bonds posts is likely to be broken. Interested to see what you guys think.

I would definitely sell it if you are not attached to it. You will get this opportunity and possibly when Bonds goes in the hall to get top dollar for it. Market is now if you were going to sell it IMO. Don't be that guy that is stuck with it like so many are with the McGwire memorabilia. Oh yeah and invest in a Yanks ball before A-Rod hits 800

Already have the original COA. I got a few of the sigs added myself. The turn around time and cost for authentication would probably lead to spending more than it would get me at this point IMO.

Already got some ARod stuff, got his autograph when he 1st came up. In fact, had my wife do a watercolor painting of him during his rookie year. We did a limited edition print of the painting before ARod protected his name and image. Kept a bunch of those. Have great interest is seeing where he ends up, LOL.

Bats bringing anywhere from $500 to $1000+ right now just on Ebay. If I would take it to one of the major, trusted auctioneers, would probably get more minus the 10-15% seller's fees.

i would say in a few years down the road when a lot of the steroid scandal has blown over and its just a record in the record books to most fans will be when its value is the highest. the only problem with that is if arod breaks the all time hr record i would think it would decrease in value some. I would think less risk in the overall situation would be to sell the bat once the records are broken. Barry Bonds will probably have more fans now rather than later as ridiculous as that sounds, since hes so hated. Have you had it appraised?
