Local Phenom Has Put His Small School On The Map..

QUITE possible in the next couple of years Terrelle Pryor will be a household name for all sports fans... He is a JR QB from a small town ( Jeannette, Pa,) that is bring coaches from all over the country in both foots and baskets to this small town located about 25 miles East of Pittsburgh ( population 3500) He is playing this week in the WPIAL Class 2 Championship... No secret to college coaches he may just well be the BEST athlete ever to come out of Western pa.. Wants to play both sports.. Good grades... OSU had him on the sidleines this year for the Michigan game.. When he was in 9th grade Jamie Dixon ( Pitt coach) offered him a scholarship... He agreed verbally in 10th grade to go to Pitt but has since backed off it.. Kid is just off the charts in both sports.. Started Point guard for his high school team when he was in 8th grade.. Was rated the 5th best high school BB player last year in the country and he was a SOPH.. Almost funny to watch him in games as he just makes it look to easy.. Some may have questioned his competion till last summer when he just took over a traveling AAU team he played with.. Hard part will be deciding if he can swing it both ways and play foots or baskets its tough to tell which he is better at.. Has been offered scholarships in both from just about every program in the US.. Weiss of Dame hads been working the kids family for the last two years..... Local sportswriter for the Pittsburgh Press called him the best QB ever to come out of Western Pa. and thats saying alot.. ( Montana.. Marino..) Terrelle Pryor going to make somebody a happy camper..

USA TODAY just named him top football HS junior in the nation... Kid has mad talent.... Just went last night to watch him play BB and it was like men vs boys... 6-6 220 pounds... May join a list of players this small town has put out to play professional sports.. Dick Hoak... Steve August(OL Hawks)... Rocco Mediate.. Shawn Burton..(TE Vikes & giants)... 3 or 4others with short rides in the NFL.. Amazing for such a small town..

Pryor will be showcased on ESPNU this year as Jeannette has been chosen as one of 10 high school football games to be televised this year.. Game will be played at Zigs former High School Hempfield ... Its looks like OSU is the lucky lottery winner as the word around town is that he has all but made his mind up to play there.. Wants to be close enough for his grandfather to come to the games..

No, think he is referring to Hempfield High which is closer to the Greensburg, Pa area. There are a # of Hempfield districts in PA
