Looking to buy a car...

Just looking for suggestions. Sometime this year im trading in the 1996 Accord LX and looking for a new vehicle to start my professional career. Got some decissions to make.

Im one that always looks for value. So I am contemplating New or Used. Know cars depreciate in value when you drive them off the lot, but I like the feeling of knowing nothing has been done to the car beforehand and you have the option of loading the car with options you like.

Most likely I am going New and am looking for a car between 18 - 27K ... more or less tryin to score in the under 25K range though. Im looking for suggestions...

Cars that are out of my range that I like are Infinity G35, Lexus IS250, Audi A4, Acura TL, sports luxury sedans. I dont have that kinda money so I am looking at something in a lower price range.

Obviously Civic/Accord ring a bell real quick but I kinda wanna move on from my Accord. I am thinking VW Jetta or Passat. I really would like a Passat but those are climbing in the upper 20K.

Anyways, just lookin for opinions of something in my price range comparable to the g35, is, a4, tl... also lookin to see if i should go used/new

probably a useless thread but just wanna talk about it anyhow

If you are looking for value, then i highly recommend a Mazda. Since you have been driving a family sedna then the Mazda 6 is comparable. you can get a new one, well equipped for about 24k. Personally i would go for a Mazda 3 which you can get fully loaded for about 22k.
It all depends on what are you looking for in a car.
performance? looks? quality? cost? comfort? options? safety?

I would go for a year or 2 older just for the fact you will save $ 5k, Go for the used certified cars. You cant go wrong with a certified lexas or acura, just change the oil and go. They will also retian the most re-sale value. Why go new and lose 3k right when you drive off the lot. When I worked for a honda dealership people would just drown themselves in payments and sell back an almost new car 8 months latter to us for a huge loss. Nothing wrong with the car, they just could not afford it. Start looking for those deals. You can get more of a car for less$$$$ GL

I don't have any real exciting suggestions since I'm like you and have a Honda. I love my 2002 Civic so my next one will probably be another Civic or Accord. I just bought it so it might be a few years lol.

My g/f has a 2004 Ford Escape which is nice but I like cars and can't really get into the SUV thing. We do switch cars a lot because she works about 50 miles from home and that gas really adds up.

I agree with getting the 1-2 yr old used car. New cars devalue so fast that you might as well get a used one and save some cash.

the ms3 is a sweet ride for the price. you could even get it with less options and get it for around 22.

Take a look at the new Malibu

I just bought a H3, but was going to buy a new Malibu. I heard that they are hand building these cars and are comparable to a 40,000 dollar sedan. Test one and see what you think. Zoom is correct that Mazdas are good reliable cars. You cannot go wrong with any model they make.

Never buy new as soon as you leave the lot it depreciates in value

I always buy a vehicle that is a couple years old and save a ton of dough

Great idea here.
Bought an Infiniti with 60,000 and have 105,000 and it still runs like new. Go with the certified G35 and get the newest model you can afford would be my suggestion.
