Magic bringing NFL back to L.A.???

Magic Johnson 'really wants the NFL to come back to LA' - ESPN Los Angeles

Magic Johnson wants the NFL in LA

Associated Press

LOS ANGELES -- Magic Johnson told the Los Angeles Times that he would be interested in bringing an NFL team back to L.A., but he hasn't had any talks with the league.

Johnson recently sold his small ownership stake in the Lakers to Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong and sold his Starbucks outlets back to the company, fueling speculation about his future.

The Hall of Famer told the newspaper he has no plans to buy the Los Angeles Dodgers or purchase a stake of the Golden State Warriors or Detroit Pistons. He says he talked to the Warriors, but nothing came of it.

The 51-year-old Johnson says he "really, really wants the NFL to come back to L.A." but hasn't had any conversations with the league.

A spokeswoman for the NBA great told The Associated Press on Wednesday that Johnson wasn't available.

Just saw he sold his 4.5% stake in the Lakers valued at $27 million and his 105 Starbucks franchies (105? WTF!?) for $75 million to the company, he said both sales were for business reasons, and said the figures reported were false. Rumored to be interested in Dodgers, Pistons or an LA NFL franchise but denies reports about having talked about any new ventures, but would love the opportunity for an LA football franchise. Think this would be very interesting, only a matter of time before an LA football franchise. Read an article that the Rams, Jags or Bills would be the most likely to move, based on the ability to remodel divisions that would align properly for travel purposes.
