Racetrack aide charged in sex abuse of horse

A horse groomer at Arlington Park Racetrack has been charged with a felony for allegedly having sexual contact with a horse.

Esbin Cal-Orozco, 29, was charged Thursday with one count of sexual contact with an animal -- a Class 4 felony, Arlington Heights police Sgt. Mike Hernandez said.

On Friday, he was ordered held on $25,000 bond.

Cal-Orozco allegedly admitted fondling a 4-year-old female horse -- named Buzz My Bell -- in a stable at Arlington Park, where he has worked as a live-in groomer and walker for about five years, Hernandez said.

On Monday night, track security guards found the horse's head oddly tied to the side of a stable -- which limited her movement -- as they were patrolling the barn area, Hernandez said. They also noted a red bicycle.

They reported the "suspicious incident" at 10:30 p.m., and when police arrived, they spotted Cal-Orozco on a red bicycle and stopped to ask him questions, Hernandez said.

He allegedly told police he fondled the horse but "stopped himself" from doing anything more, Hernandez said. He also denied abusing animals in the past.

The horse was checked by a veterinarian, Hernandez said, and suffered no injuries. According to Arlington Park track results, she had finished third in her last race on Sept. 11.

Cal-Orozco lived in a dorm at the track in Arlington Heights, but has since been banned from the property, Hernandez said.

An Arlington Park spokesman declined comment

it was a female horse, thought it was male at first, i was thinking what a homo but it's a female

i'll try and dig up the story but yrs ago in the pgh area a guy got busted for ****ing a dead deer in his apt.....he apparently set up some type of pulley system to pull the deer up to his window and kept it there, the neighbors finally noticed the smell and that's how he got caught
