Manny Ramirez might have another career all lined up when his playing days are over.

Multiple media reports on Tuesday night said that the slugger was selling a deluxe JENN-AIR grill on eBay that he said he bought for about $4,000.

A Boston Globe reporter spoke to the mercurial Ramirez in Fort Myers, Fla., however, and he said that he was only helping a neighbor sell the item. Whether the appliance is his or not, photos accompanying the item clearly show a smiling Ramirez next to the grill.

"Hi, I'm Manny Ramirez," the listing said. "I bought this AMAZING grill for about $4,000 and I used it once. ... But I never have the time to use it because I am always on the road. I would love to sell it and you will get an autographed ball signed by me. Enjoy it, Manny Ramirez."

The sales pitch is working. Right after Tuesday night's 6-5 Grapefruit League win over the Twins, the high bid was $6,200. One hour later, it was up to $20,201 and climbing.

they were talking about this on sportstalk radio in ny today....

the reason the auction was taken down is because some meat head bid 999,999,999 or some shit...

more importantly, the guys talking about the auction apparently had a source that stated it WAS NOT manny's grill....he was selling it for his neighbor, as his own, in order to get a better price.


the auction was being put back up under specal circumstances to prevent asshole bidders.
