Masters Degree

I am about to go back to school and get my MBA in the fall. Anyone of you done this? Would you say it is worth it or no? I am many moons out of undergrad school, so its not like it is fresh anymore. I am going to keep my job and do the work program where it is nights and some weekends and lasts a couple years. Its going to be a lot of work and keep me very busy, but I think it will be worth it in the end. Anyone?

Don't have one but curious as to your reason for going back to get it?

Does it benefit you at your job/future or is it personal satisfaction you want?

Its not too bad. You can easily do it at night (no kids right?). Only one problem, lost of group work in MBA programs. They have several accelerated programs where you can be done in 1.5 years or so, or on the contrary, several programs where you can take 3-4 years at a slower pace if your gonna work.

Probably wont keep my current job once I get it. It will be out of my field. However I will have good experience in a couple fields and I think it will benefit me. Doing it to get to that next level and personal satisfaction. I am still not married and have no kids. This is the time to do it if there ever was.

I hope it benefits you financially if personal satisfaction is not the goal.

I have tried to date a couple girls that were getting theirs. Key word tried - they have no life.

I've thought about it myself, but don't see it benefitting me...

I'm actually graduating soon and going straight to grad school. Once I finish my MBA I will command a higher salary and better jobs will open up. I'm only 22 so I still have about 3 or 4 years before i'm just a working stiff

Cat, I originally tried to get my Masters though night school with no luck. One thing or another was always coming up with my job or personal life and I dropped more classes than I completed. Then I tried the University's correspondence program with better success but eventually had to take a two semester sabbaticle from from work and treat my studies like they were a job. That did it and twenty years later, I am very glad that I made the effort. Good luck, buddy.
