Basement Criteria

I probably should have posted this prior to opening this section. Anyway it is important to have criteria so people know what is okay and what’s not okay.

The basement will have more flexibility on what is allowed than any other forum but at the same time we do need a few restrictions in place to help assure Cappers Mall stays on track.

So while anything goes – here are a few small restrictions.

1. Do not bring the basement threads in to any other section of the forum. If people want to enter the basement they will at their own discretion. Threads moved to the basement will be moved without a “redirect” link 9 out of 10 times.

2. X-Rated stuff will not be allowed and could be cause for your removal. No porn. R rated stuff will be okay. Anything at all involving this and children/minors will be strictly prohibited and member will be immediately banned. This forum will be an R rated forum and people before entering should realize this. If things of this nature upset or offend you – please stay out of this section. In fact (see info mall) for instructions on how to collapse this section all together.

3. All racist, religion or any of this kind of hate will be strictly prohibited.

By entering this section, you warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, hateful, threatening, or otherwise that violate any laws.

4. Yes, more bickering will be tolerated in this forum compared to the other forums but if it gets out of hand – the basement is the last stop before removal. Ridiculous out of hand bashing or repeated personal attacks (below the belt) will also be prohibited. Sometimes this is a tough line to draw however it needs to be clear the basement is not the place for you to be able to come in and automatically attack someone without repercussions. We will let a little minor feuding possibly go on – but it’s a fine line. If you bring this in to another forum – that will not be acceptable.

5. Our general rules of no touting, selling, posting emails, messengers, contact info, etc will still be strictly enforced in here.

IF something else comes up we will amend and deal with at the time but as for now – anything else goes.

I guess I need to clarify this rule because obviously some people can not pay attention. To the continuous trouble makers - your time is running short. You are your last leg.

The basement is for topics that get out of hand or are not suited for our every day forums. It's for topics we generally do not want members who are family people, women or anyone offended by borderline material to have to read. It is not for BASHING or to call anyone out or insulting other members. We are done with this. IF debates get heated that is one thing but it is mostly for Main Street threads not suited for everyone. For anyone who has participated in the above mention discussions in here and have personally attacked any member or have hit below the belt or any of that crap - this is your warning. It's probably best not to assume you will get another one. It's time for the children to grow up.

We will have the option of banning you or allowing you only to particpate in the basement threads. If you are at this point of only being allowed to post in the basement and you make disparaging insulting remarks against other members than you will be banned all together.

If you are unsure whether you are crossing the line - I recommend you proceed on the side of caution.

Veterans/Newbies: I have seen this come up a few times and feel the need to comment. Yes veteran members of the forum will be given the benefit of the doubt before a new member in some cases. If a member has contributed positively for a long time they probably have earned that right. Veteran Members - Do not take this for granted. As veteran members you know what is expected and tolerated around here. Newbies: We welcome your contributions so that you too will become veterans of the forum before long! All members should be respected and we need to get back to that.


Credibility: This is probably the biggest reason why much of this stuff starts. I think credibility should be an important part of the forum. Please do not confuse this as not being able to have freedom to do certain things as they see fit, keeping records as an example. I don't care if you keep records or not. We will not agree with everyone's ways, style or personalities but I am going to make an extra effort to make sure there are no issues with credibility. There are very few members that have had this problem. The amount of credible members outweighs the others 9/1 minimum. I also want to be clear that I believe some people get an unfair reputation of being uncredible. I believe there have been instances when there is debate about credibility.

I ask the veteran members to support me with this but with or without your support - it is what it is. EVERYONE FROM THIS POINT GETS A CHANCE WITH A CLEAN SLATE WHEN IT COMES TO CREDIBILITY ON THE FORUM. That does not mean you have to change your opinion about someone or something but give this a chance. I will deal with any credibility issues. If you believe something is outrageously uncredible - email me at jack@cappersmall.com. Explain it to me in a civilized way and show me what you are talking about. I am not talking about personality conflicts. I am talking about when there is something that could be called a lie or simply is just not credible. I will deal with these in the best way I see fit. It does not mean right that second so if you email me and you do not get an immediate response or action from me - don't take it upon yourself to embarass yourself. Let me handle it. I will if it's needed. If you see something in the present and future is what I am concerned with. The past is the past.

Please do not report something and then act on it in an unprofessional manner anyway. That's the idea of reporting it. The reported post button or an email to me is not meant to be a warning that you are about to fireback with insults. Notify us the proper way and give it some time in some cases.


Hijacking Threads: When someone wants to ask a question about any topic - please do not jump in with sarcasm, profanity or even humor. Do not hijack thjreads. In the basement hijack all you want. In the other forums have a little respect for members and quesions. Stay away from the thread if you have nothing to add to it beneficial to the forum. Some threads in Main Street might be acceptable with this but for the most part it has gone way to far.

I hope for everyone to work together to make this a better place and help accomplish these goals. Anyone who gets in the way of these objectives will be dealt with appropriately.

Not In Hear But Their Is Avatar's On The College Basketball For Last Two Day's That Is Sickining With The New Mod's, With More Eye's, You Would Think This Would Not Be Allowed. I Had Mine Turned Off But My Grandaughter Was Here Yesterday And Wanted To See The Pictures . So I Turned Them On And About Fourth Post I Wasn't Paying Attetion , Was Just Reading And She Said Grandpaw What They Doing And I About Chit, Couldn't Believe My Eyes And It Is Back Today.

CrosseyedRooster, with all due respect why would you turn on your avatars to show your Grandaughter when is an 18 or older forum to begin with?? Not that theres anything wrong with that but pointing fingers our way isn't fair either... we give you the option of having them turned off.

Also, If someone reports an avatar theres good chance we'll take it down.. And none has been reported as of late.
