Monster Cables

I just got a new TV last night and I bought the monster cables (which I spent 350 on two cables). Are they worth the money or are they a scam? I am having buyers remorse right now.

If you didn't take them out of the package, take them back. You cable provider will generally give them to you for free. Fios did for me.

yes. not worth it.
bring them back. there are differences in quality so dont buy extra cheap ones, but you can get the same quality cables for about $10.
and your provider will usually provide you with decent quality cables.

Just bought 2 HDMI cables 3' gold tipped for 13.32 plus shipping from monoprice. Plus other stuff. Total came to $160.20 including shipping (shipping cost more than the products) UPS gauranteed delivery within 3 days. I will pipe in again for my review, once received.

Well I decided to stick with the monster cables. And I am not dissapointed. My picture is clear as day. But that being said I don't know the quality of the less expensive cables but I am very happy with them.

CBC did a report on this, I think you will find interesting...the show is called Market place and the episode was called 'Packing the Deal'....they tested the monster cable which was $250 and tested it against a generic $12 cable...

Keep in mind, the store made more profit on the Monster cable than they did on the TV. When we carried Monster Cables in the store I worked for a couple of years ago, the profit margin of Monster cables was between 50-60% of the retail price. Margins on consumer electronic items are awful, stores have to use high priced cables & extended warranties in order to survive.

Were Monster Cables better in quality? Yes, but not worth the difference in price.
