Anyone else go find them?
I thought I remembered a thread on them but couldn't find it. Anyway, going out tonight to try and dig some up, wish me luck ![]() How do you cook them? We just usually fry em up with some cracker breading. |

Saute in some butter with shallot and garlic until tender.
![]() For sauce, add wine and reduce completely, add stock and cream and cook until consistency is right. You could pour this over cardboard and it would taste good. Last edited by The Frozen Pond; 04-16-2010 at 09:48 PM. |

They are delicious and most often only found in the spring in the US.

Love em, make them simply in a pan with butter and flour. As said before, you can cook them with anything, they are delicious.
To answer where you find them, only in the springtime after some wet, warm/humid nights. I have success in an abandoned apple orchard on our property and also under or around dead elm trees. Good luck!! |
