Lightbulb Most overrated & greatest coach in sports history?

Any thoughts?

Does a championship make you a great coach? (Example: Brian Billick)

Does failure at the championship level make you a bad coach (Example: Marv Levy).

Is Bill Cowher a great coach now that he won a championship or has he always been a great coach but did not get credit until the big one?

Is Bobby Cox a bad coach cause he can't win the big one?

Thoughts?

Brian Billick - just had a great defense, that's all. JMO

Don't know about Cowher - I think a great organization more than anything...

Is Torre overrated now that he can't win with great talent?

Cox - I just think that's his personality win or lose.

I know I'll get roasted for this, but was that Green Bay coach back in the day that great? I forget his name... LOL!

I agree with all of those - especially Jackson. Give me MJ and Pippen or Shaq and Kobe and tell me I won't win. PLEASE!

What does he have? 9 championships? You have to have talent to win but how can you dis the guy for winning? I don't think the Lakers won with Shaq/Kobe without Phil and not sure many coaches would of been able to control the Bulls with guys like Rodman, etc and still win!

Although I am not a fan of Phil Jackson - I give credit where credit is due. I do not think he is overrated in the least.

Jackson - Maybe so, but give any other coaches those two guys and see.

Rodman? Please. Jordan took care of him.

We'll see if Jackson is overrated or not until Shaq and Wade win a championship. Than you'll see that it needs a great organizer to get things sorted out. You can have the best players in the world playing for you, but if you do not know how to put people at their place, you get nothing out of it. I think Dean Smith should be noted as a great coach. I think most of the greatest coaches are on college level because this is where the development of the players are key and plus these coaches are more like parents and get closer to the players on a personal level.
