THE ART AND SCIENCE OF PICKING GOLF WINNERS
1. CLOSER with CHARACTER. Certain guys see the finish line and cross it and others are destined for second place.
2. RELAXED CONFIDENCE, FOCUS and a HUNGER to win. It's a mental game and their mind has to be in the right frame with a determination and focus. As Harry Vardon said: "To play well you must feel tranquil and at peace. I have never been troubled by nerves in golf because I felt I had nothing to lose and everything to gain."
3. COURSE. Does the course layout favor the strengths of the golfer and does it expose their weaknesses. Previous form can change immediately for those who feel comfortable on a course and its greens.

Thanks. Some memorable games there.

Mine personally:

Dan Carpenter wide left. Wofford beats Montana in 2007 playoffs. My seats are just to the right (as you're looking at the field) of the upright. He kicked it to me.

Yes, the same Dan Carpenter who missed 4 last week...

Mine is the 2003 cubs collapse in the national league championship. that hurt like a death.
The other was the Bulls losing a chance at four straight titles, one without jordan when the ref called pippen for a foul at the buzzer when he hit the shooter after he shot. that is never called. he hit three free throws and the bulls lost that game five. they won game six but eventually lost gave seven. The bulls were robbed.

Another is Notre Dame in i believe 93. They had just scored a touchdown with seconds left and were about to go to the national title in football. the ref called a celebration penalty and boston college got a good return and a play or two set them up for a 50 yard field goal but a terrible kicker who made it only because of the celebration penalty
