Motley Crue concert (Mar 10)

The Crue's on their way to wreck the town...

Motley Crue concert in Ottawa goes tomorrow evening at 6:30 pm

I'm really looking forward to this.

I'll be taking the day off. I always enjoy a concert much more when I don't work during the day.

2 Special Guests: Hinder and Theory of a Dead Man.

Anyone seen any of "The Saints Of Los Angeles Tour" concert date yet?

a third special guest: The Last Vegas.

Just read great reviews for all 3 Special Guests.

As for MC, reviews were mixed...I'll be the judge of that one tomorrow.

Seen the Crue 5 times, and they've rocked every time! Loved the old floating, spinning drum kit! Enjoy the show!

Only other national band I've seen 5 times is Marilyn Manson.

Well Mendoza, the concert was just awesome. Best light show I've ever seen (and I've seen Pink Floyd, Triumph and many others in concerts and all were outmatched by this MC concert). Theatrics were pretty darn good. Lots of pyro. Hits after Hits after Hits. I found it a tad too loud tho. I would have enjoyed it a lil' more at a lesser volume: 5/5 stars.

Tommy had a simple drum kit at floor level and way at back. Mick and Nikki were at their far ends respectively and almost out of the action...but every note and squeek was heard for miles. All three were basically hard to see. Vince was the central all night.

First band was "The Last Vegas". Boy, do they ever sound like Cinderella. Good music but the sound & light was poor. I still enjoyed it though the lowest rating on the night: 2.5 stars/5

Hinder: Typical rock band sound. Didn't do anything to me. Very good sound & lights: 3.5 stars/5

Theory of a DeadMan: Just learned that these guys were Canadians. More stylish rock than the previous two bands. Very good sound & lights. Better than the other two but still not my thing. It's for the new gen rockers I guess. I'll be fair and rate them for the quality they gave to the crowd: 4/5 stars.

All in all it was a good night. My ears are still ringing. At $83.99 per ticket, that's a bargain. Motley Crue and Alice Cooper were the best value concerts I've been at in the last five years for the same price. All others were about $150 ea.

One more thing,

Most of the crowd 12,000+ were teenagers up to maybe 20-21 yrs old. I expected a lil' older crowd being an 80's-90's band mostly. And 60-65% of the crowd were females!

Yea, I talked to a couple girls behind me and they both said that Theory of a DeadMan was their fav band and that's the main reason they attended the concert. ouch! But yea, they're a very good young band.

Crue!!! Saw 'em in Nashville -- awesome!!! Kind of a short set though, still good. Dr. Feelgood tour with Lita Ford was WAY better, but this was pretty good for a bunch of old dudes. I give it an 8.5
Missed the other bands (too busy drinking down on 2nd)

Glad to hear you had a good time! Concert prices are getting pretty out of control. Most bands I see are at smaller venues now, and those can still be $30+. But I definitely remember the ringing ears from the big places!

Oh! You live in Ottawa now? Then since u live South you must be going to Carleton Univ then. Maybe Ottawa U but probably the former. Mostly a residential area there but getting heavy on the commercial side too with city expansion toward the South. East and West are done with expansion for awhile. And can't go North.

I would take the bus to avoid the traffic coming back but we always leave early and go for a pizza firsrt, then any other stops on the way so we take my pickup. Hey, we'll hook up for a beer sometime Pitt

I wouldn't have minded seeing their last tour "Carnival of Sins"--I have the DVD and it's just spectacular and ahead of Saints of Los Angeles too.

As for Lita, I only like 2 songs of hers solo. I like Joan Jett tho...and even more The Runaways--both Lita's and Joan's former band.
