Lol, I would go with the higher # in jw1. still got jw2 on hold in my to do list for a rainy day.

It will not disappoint. Let me know what you get in your count. MF's getting up, cloud the issue. I'm pretty confident in the 103 number.

I would like to see John Wick in a Jack Reacher smackdown! Reacher would be butt fucked by JW in my opinion!

Dunkirk.... a long way from being a Saving Pvt. Ryan. I give it a 2.8/5 at best.
Story line falls a little flat, doesn't really tell the Dunkirk story well. More like watching an abridged highlight reel...

Agree I give it a 6 out of 10. I expected much more from it.

Apples and oranges but, Band of Brothers comes to mind. Now that is a great "war is hell" movie/mini series.

Love the last line in this segment....

The film adaptation of Stephen King's creepy novel is already shattering numerous records, including landing the biggest opening ever for a horror movie, or for the month of September.

There is nothing clownish about It, which grossed a massive $51 million on Friday from 4,103 theaters for a weekend debut north of $100 million.

New Line and Warner Bros.' film adaptation of Stephen King's novel is jolting the domestic box office back to life after seven straight down weekends, resulting in the worst summer in recent memory, as attendance fell to a 25-year low.

It is shattering numerous records, including landing the biggest start ever for a horror film, not accounting for inflation. And it's the biggest opening ever for the month of September. The movie's Friday take alone was bigger than the previous September crown holder, Hotel Transylvania 2, which pulled in $48.5 million for the three days.

And its Friday haul almost matched the opening weekend of Paranormal Activity 3 ($52.6 million), which is the current record-holder for top horror opening.

We saw It last night.

Wife and I agreed: 5.5/10

I read about 25 Stephen King books when I was younger, but It was not one of them. And I never saw the tv version. (Although I did own a few CDs by the band Pennywise.

If the movie Nightmare on Elm Street and the show Stranger Things had a baby, it would be It. I honestly think the cliff-jumping scene was filmed at the same location as a similar scene in Stranger Things.

CGI looked good. Some of the nightmarish attacks were crazy and inventive, but there weren't more than a couple mild scares. The woman in the painting was scarier than Pennywise. The kids' troubled home lives were more disturbing than the main story line, but those stories weren't given much depth. Never felt any serious tension, but enjoyed some of the visuals.

Looking forward to seeing Mother! Always loved Darren Aronofsky. Been a fan since Pi, and Requiem for a Dream, The Wrestler, and Black Swan are among my favorite movies. I even liked The Fountain, although I've only seen it twice. Mother! looks to have a great cast as well, and Javier Bardem is such a powerful actor.

The other one I can't wait for is The Disaster Artist in December. Best trailer I've seen in a while. James Franco is an underrated actor, and he looks to have nailed Tommy Wiseau. I love The Room. Along with Birdemic, it's one of the best unintentionally funny movies of all time.

A friend of mine saw Mother a couple of weeks ago. Couldn't stop talking about it. Also looking forward to seeing it! Don't forget about Blade Runner 2049! I'm seeing it in a couple of weeks. Supposed to be released Oct 6.

Have a good one.

Another one of my friends saw Mother this evening and hated the sh*t out of it. As that old saying goes; "The movie was so bad, barf bags were placed behind the seats." To each is own I guess!

Forgot to mention, I liked American Assassin a lot!

Tom Cruise' American Made

interesting and entertaining.... you figure out the rating

Brings up a lot of shit from the 80's (starts in 1978)...
Light bulb went on during the movie..... "Oh that's why the Clinton's are still around".

A lot of shit got buried from those times ....

Blade Runner 2049.... somewhere in the butt numbing 2hr 44min film was the making of a good movie. Seemed to me the movie raised more questions than it did answers. Mayhaps they are angling for a Terminator type series.
What was your take on it?
*On the bright side... Ana de Armas is friggin' hot!

Blade Runner 2049

8.5/10

Loved the visuals. The color palette and the music were characters of their own.

Beautiful, broad, bleak landscapes. Depressing, monotone cityscapes. The addition of the pervasive, giant, bright 3-D advertising in the night scenes was depressing in its own way.

Superbly acted. Ryan Gosling was on screen for more than 90% of the movie and often carried the scenes with just his expression. Ana de Armas was great as Joi, playing it with the sweet innocence of someone trying to approximate a real person without ever having lived a moment of real life. Harrison Ford was typical quality Harrison Ford. Cool to see Edward James Olmos briefly reprising his original role. Jared Leto was great, but I'm glad they didn't shoehorn more of him in unnecessarily. Too bad we didn't get more Dave Bautista, too.

Personally loved the pace of the movie, but I'm a big fan of letting a movie breathe, as well as having time to explore everything in the frame. Huge fan of the original Blade Runner, but stylistically this was even more to my tastes.
