Just watched Bucky Larson: Born to be a Star
Bucky seems to be a takeoff on the Joe Dirt character. Buck toothed guy from midwest accidently watches his parents in a porn movie they made during the 70s. He wants to become in his eyes "famous" like them and heads to Hollywood to make it big on the silver screen. We follow his exploits and the cast of characters he meets as he becomes the biggest thing in the porn industry based on his unique talent. I got a few chuckles out of it, if you liked Joe Dirt this will be your type of movie otherwise pass. 5.5 outta 10

Just saw "The Man on the Train" starring Donald Sutherland and Larry Mullen from U2. A stranger (Mullen) comes into a small town and is befriended by a retired professor (Sutherland). Sutherland is near the end of his life and is looking back with regret about the life he has lived and the stranger..Mullen... is in the same boat. Each wishes they were in each others shoes so you can guess how this movie is going to end up. Anyway save yourself the time and dont bother watching this because it is boring and Mullen is one of the worst actors I've ever seen. 3/10

We're just getting around to catching up on the Oscar Noms.

Moneyball DVD last week 8/10

Bridesmaids DVD last week 5/10

The Descendants theatre tonight 9/10 -- emotional stuff, Clooney was great, the tone and pacing was excellent -- always thought Payne was a great director. Was cool to see all the on-location Hawaii stuff, areas I lived on Oahu and places I know well like the Lihue airport on Kauai and the resorts at Princeville.

Will probably see Extremely Loud... next. Going to catch Hugo and The Artist soon. Need to DVD The Tree of Life. Haven't even seen The Help yet.

Going to have to see this one, too. I'm willing to give it more of a chance than my wife. She thinks it looks stupid; I hate the title.

The Artist- I dont understand what all the fuss is about this movie. It will probably make history and become the first silent film to win the best picture since silent films went out of production but the "boy meets girl loses girl" storyline in this movie has been done before and this movie is bringing nothing new to the table. 5/10

1911 Revolution (hard to gauge as the movie is subtitled. Glad to see Jackie Chan finally kept his wry humour aside. Would have to watch it again a couple more times and doubt it will happen anytime soon).

harold and kumar christmass 9/10

pure comedy, the movie was a party i was either laughing or loving the stoney effect the entire movie. must own

Tower hiest 5.5/10

Stiller was good, not a bad movie but was shot well and were some good scenes, overall it could have been better I stayed up through the entire movie which is a plus. rental

take shelter 8/10

powerfull acting they really do a great job overall with believability. It pulled a ton of emotion but was a bit slow but really made you think after the movie was over. not sure its a must own, but a must see.
