FTW -- you going to the game tomorrow? I got an email saying Oakland returned a bunch of tickets. Looked at their seat map. Showed a bunch of $70 seats in the upper bowl.

Well about a year later and i regret nothing. Even though things didnt work out with the girlfriend they did work out for New Orleans.

I love this city. And while i know im not meant to live here my whole life, i think i can happily keep my feet planted in this beautiful, intricate, and unique city for the next few years.

I feel new orleans gets a bad rap.. i havnt seen anything too atrocious here that i havnt seen anywhere else in the US. Mardi Gras and othet stuff was fucking awesome btw. If you dont want to live here definetly visit is my recommendation.

yes i remember some days were extremely brutal, i can't imagine having to work outdoors in it... anyway the tradeoff for the nice weather in the other seasons is worth it.

Will be at Pats, Lions, maybe Bears, Bucs, maybe Skins, Panthers. Doubt I'll be at either of the late December games.

Just went to Saints camp yesterday.

You getting to the Dome for some this season?

There are always guys selling tickets on the corners on your way to the Dome. I don't know their usual prices, but its mostly the same guys week after week, so I guess they're selling legit tickets. Best to be careful, though. Some people have bought street tickets only to find out they're no good when they get to the gate. (Once a ticket has been resold digitally, the bar code on the paper ticket is deactivated.)

TicketExchange (Ticketmaster) has resale tickets for every game. Pretty sure you can get into the building at a reasonable price for every game but the Patriots. I saw preseason game tickets going for $5 or $6.

I haven't been to a preseason game since we played Baltimore a couple days before Hurricane Katrina.

I spent my college years and a little more in Nola. That was 1979 to 1985. I wonder how it has changed. While I loved the unique culture, I always felt like the city was more corrupt and backwards than most other places. It was almost like an intoxicating trap, that if you stay too long it's hard to leave, but by staying you regress economically and overall. I guess if you have a great job it would be different. It has its amazing restaurants and entertainment, but long term it's a fricking ghetto. Hope it's still working out for you ... keep us posted.
