Well I'm glad i didn't listen to the majority in this thread. Cause I have to say I am loving new Orleans so far, the culture the people everything is fucking badass. And a lot cheaper than living in New York. Figured I would throw in an update its only been a couple weeks but this city is growing on me very quickly.

Yah you can get all the advice in the world but until you experience something for yourself you just don't know. All the best

Go eat at Deanie's on the lakefront. Order the giant platter and small onion rings.

Deanie's is great but try to go to Drago's in Metairie, get a dozen of the chargrilled oysters...you'll be glad you did.

Honestly is a lot to like about NOLA.

I'll be there tomorrow and Monday. A friend of mine from Salt Lake is working at the Essence Fest at the Dome.

Keep us updated, FTW. We'll grab some Bloody Marys at a Saints game this fall.

Headed to Hollywood next week and maybe the IP for a few days. Golf at The Bridges. Can't wait.

Sounds like a good time. Coast should be pretty crowded. Traffic has been crazy. I was at the IP yesterday; saw a lot of tour buses and people checking in to the hotels.

Going into Noo Awlins the next couple of days. Hoping parking isn't way jacked up for the holiday weekend, but it usually is.

Another bonus of living in NOLA is you're only a short drive away from Baton Rouge.

Moving to New Orleans..

Just got back from New Orleans for the weekend. Had a blast. Drove down from Tennessee with this girl for something to do. Bourbon street sucks imo, loud drunk frat boys, pounding shit music, and smells like puke and shit, lol maybe im getting old... but the rest of the French Quarter is a good vibe and a great time. Lots of booze and good food, and some cool music clubs. Not sure I would want to live there tho!

If you don't care where the seat is, like middle of a upper corner section, you can get in the building for proabably 60 or 70 bucks including the fees, like through stubhub or ticketmaster ticketexchange. Once you're in, you're pretty free to do whatever, especially in the upper bowl. We rarely sit in our seats; everyone around us generally stands in the aisle along the top of sections 611, 612, 613, 614, etc. I'm sure some of those people don't really belong in that area, but the cops have always been cool. Plus, the bonus is we basically have a private bathroom right there and easy access to food and drink through an elevator that most people don't know about. I'd rather be up there than anywhere else in the dome. Let me know if you'll be there, and I'll buy you a $14 bloody mary.

We're definitely going to Oakland, Carolina, Denver, Seattle, probably the Monday nighter against Atlanta. Unless the Saints are playoff bound, we kinda lose steam for the December games. The couple that sits next to us goes to every game no matter what, but if the Saints are like 5-6, you'll set a lot of empty seats up there. We might go to Detroit, but probably not the Bucs game on xmas eve.

ill def catch one of those games. ill try and get to one of the earlier ones before saints are out of it. 5-6 may be a little generous

and $14 for a bloody mary if you are buying that might work

It's $14 because when they ask "Make that a double?" the answer is "yes."
