Very Cool Pics. How long did it take you to climb it? What was at the summit? Looked like a transmitting station of some type. Anyone in there? Also curious about any wildlife

Mt Washington is in Gorham/Martins NH, there is a weather observatory up there, people work year round, highest record wind speeds on earth in 1934 were recorded up top 230 mph+.

When we got up there it was 9 degrees with a windchill of -7, wind speeds at 50mph gusting to 70, pretty intense. 8.5 hours round trip, up one trail (tuckermans ravine) and down another (lion head), we left at 830 and got back to the car at 5ish.

Pretty much no wildlife, random birds and squirrels. I guess its is one of the top 10 most dangerous hikes in the country according to some article I read, it was pretty wild, I want to climb Mt. Whitney in CA at some point, thats my next goal.

Good stuff. Hiking is the best. Get out to Utah and Colorado some time for 11,000 to 14,000 foot climbs. Gotta be more trails out there than anywhere.

I'm a Backpacker Magazine reader, too, but now that I'm back in Mississippi, it just makes me sad.
