My Way of Avoiding Legal Problems

With all that is going on in the Off Shore Sportsbook world, it reminds me of a valuable lesson that I was taught many years ago. If you want to legally avoid a problem in anything in life, be it wagering, your job, or any other issue, learn the rules and laws that govern what you are doing. Learn each and every rule or law like you know your own name. Once you have a complete understanding of what you are up against, you can find the legal loopholes to get around the problem.

I used this philosophy many times. I was called on my actions many times. I simply quoted the rule or law that was in effect, and never had a problem. Sometimes they would change the rules so I could not pull the same stunt again, so I would just go to work and find the loophole in the new rule. I'm not a genius by any stretch. I just worked on the problem until I found a way around it.
