Need HELP- Computer Problem

Need some help from the computer experts here at the Mall.

My computer is running slower than molasses all of a sudden and have started getting bombarded with popups for removing spyware programs.

When I hook up on the net instead of it going to my homepage which is Yahoo and you can see it trying to load it but ends up going to a page call aprotectedpage. with a warning popup that says warning W32.Myzor.FK@yf is a virus that infects files with exe.extensions. It attempts to steal passwords, etc....

Also at the bottom of my screen I keep getting popups in regards to a problem with spyware.

How do I solve this problem and please remember I am an idiot when it comes to computers

lavasoft adaware, spybot search and destroy, and use the trial of webroot's spy software and use it, that will help with spyware and popups i think

1. Do you have antivirus software installed on your PC??

2. Do you have any antispyware software installed on your PC??

3. What operating system are you running (Windows XP)??

1. Update your Norton Antivirus (run LiveUpdate) and do a full system scan (remove any viruses found).

2. Do a Windows Update to ensure all critical updates from Microsoft are on your PC (start, All programs, Windows Update)

3. Download and install spybot Search and Destroy, run it and remove any infections.

4. Download and install the trial version of Ewido antispy software, run it and follow the recommendations for removing any spyware/malware.

5. Download and install Microsoft Windows Defender and run a full system scan to remove any residual spyware/malware.

FOR THIS AND ALL VIRUS/SPYWARE INFECTIONS:

simply type the virus/spyware message directly into google and hit search. you will find 10's or 100's of others who have posted this problem and their solutions. simply read at least 2 or 3 before trying to fix it so that you are sure the solution they provide is agreed upon.

so, in the google search bar type:

W32.Myzor.FK@yf

and then hit <enter>

and you'll find what you need

careful there. Not all Windows updates are good. The quick ones are OK, but stay away from the ones where it takes about 10-15 minutes, and you have to agree and accept terms.

Seth: Fogell, this ID says that you're 25 years old. Why wouldn't you just put 21, man?
Fogell: Seth, Seth, Seth. Listen up, ass-face: every day, hundreds of kids go into the liquor store with fake IDs, and every single one says they're 21. Pssh, how many 21 year olds do you think there are in this town? It's called f*cking strategy, alright?

Windows Updates obtained from Microsoft's Critical update site are not only good, but recommended to mitigate potential problems with their operating systems. Windows Updates obtained from 3rd party sources are, indeed, not to be trusted..........

problem is you don't know where it is coming from. I get an icon for a Windows Update every time I put on my computer. Made the mistake of running it on 2 different occasions. Both times it caused my computer to crash. Even the guy from Dell (in India) could not get rid of it, and he said ignore it. Mind you, I use Norton and Webroot, so it's not like I let things go.

The only trusted site is:

http://update.microsoft.com/windowsu....aspx?ln=en-us

for XP machines........

Everything else could be bogus.........

that is only for spyware, not virus protection.
