Need help with "line moving"

New here guys.........I keep seeing posts about waiting for lines to move. I know bettors are looking for an edge with lines moving a certain way, but what WAY is that????

Are they looking at what the public is betting and going with the public or are they going against them?

Can someone explain for example:

Ohio St -6
vs
Michigan

A few minutes before the game starts the line moves to -7 Ohio St. Which way would a handicapper bet??? Is he going to bet Ohio St. or Michigan +7?

Thanks

Not everyone thinks the same way. Some like to follow the money. Most try to fade the public but there is some debate on who is the public. I like to follow late money
