Need help from other scholars..
Writing an essay on "examining the role and significance of video technology in the films VIDEODROME and FAMILY VIEWING." I have been having troubles putting my ideas together, and would like some help from anyone with some extra time on their hands, or who has seen any one of these videos.
Just a little background about the films first. Videos and filming are used in both movies repeatedly. In Videodrome it is mostly used to brainwash the main character and to confuse the audience, making it difficult to gauge what is reality and what isn't. In Family Viewing it is used alot, because the dad is always watching TV and films himself and his wife having sex over top of lots of homevideos from when the son was younger and the grandma is always watching TV at the hospital. I know all this, but am struggling on coming up with a thesis and a few main points. I can't just list when the technology is used, but I cannot really figure out its role or significance, other then realising that it is essential for the storys plots. Can anyone help me put my ideas together into an argument, or give me somewhere to work from? Writers block, it feels like. Last edited by pittviper; 03-17-2009 at 11:38 AM. |
