and give credit to those that might get overlooked yet tear it up in an individual sport

and perhaps so its fresh in the voters minds, right after each sport ends

so for example, right now we would be deciding NFL Capper of the year

in November the MLB capper of the year etc

well after a per sport vote, then you could have each of those winners put up for another vote to determine the capper of the year.
