Red face To nice of a guy

Are any of you like me? I extend credit to people that can't pay their bill. I loan large sums of money to relatives. I get paid back about 50% of the time. I do all car work for free to relatives. I make an ok living and I don't want for anything but I work hard for what I have. I know there are givers and takers and I am a giver but sometimes I feel like I have sucker written on my forehead.

Seth: Fogell, this ID says that you're 25 years old. Why wouldn't you just put 21, man?
Fogell: Seth, Seth, Seth. Listen up, ass-face: every day, hundreds of kids go into the liquor store with fake IDs, and every single one says they're 21. Pssh, how many 21 year olds do you think there are in this town? It's called f*cking strategy, alright?

that is very nice of you paul.

i think with family and close friends its easy to be nice and extend help where needed. my wife is alot more generous when it comes to charities, but i contribute to natural disasters, cancer society for both redsox and jimmy V.

i always think about being more generous with my time and actually physically volunteering but i get sidetracked and forget about it.

It is strange I am only a doormat when it comes to that kind of stuff. I will kick your ass if you piss me off but just a big marshmellow when it comes to the charity stuff.

Very kind of you...

I find myself giving much more when I have more, when things are tight I gotta be frugal...

I think if I won the lottery I'd give away a lot of it...

Your a nice guy pwherr and I understand where your coming from. I`m the same way, but as I get older I say no a lot more. Except when it comes to the Cancer Society, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or donations for little kids who are deprived.

After college, I worked with kids for 12 years not making any money at all. I did the work cause I wanted to make a difference in peoples lives...I have did the big brother program and worked 75 hours a week doing two jobs helping kids...I am a big time giver....which seems to backfire from time to time.

Yes Sir! One of mine also! It brings tears to my eyes when I see or read about a kid getting his wish and knowing they may pass away very soon.

pwherr, when you're in your advanced age, looking back at your life, thinking about all of those people and charities that you've helped...I'm sure you won't be thinking "Damn, I wish I didn't give of myself so much!"

It's like they say, think of what you'd like written on your tombstone, and then LIVE up to it.

I work hard, my wife stays home with our two young daughters, and we live a modest lifestyle in the smallest house in our neighborhood. Drive 10 year old vehicles, and don't have anything fancy and don't vacation or eat out much.

But we'll still give what we can comfortably give, both in money and in time, to family, friends, and charities. Thing is, although it sometimes hurts a bit in the pocketbook, in the longer run I feel richer in my heart and my soul. Sounds sappy, but it's true.

i have had the same thing happen to me on occasion. i know it can get frustrating bro, but keep your head up and don't let it get to you. i tend to look at it this way when someone takes advantage of your kindness just shows their true colors that they are not a person to be trusted..
