can someone please explain to me how Run DMC gets elected to the ROCK-N-ROLL Hall of Fame ????

well, seeing as how the elections were announced only this afternoon, I did not think that it was the subject of a thread "a while back".

for that matter..will aerosmith be going to the rap hall of fame? if run dmc can make the rock n roll hall of fame based on that song, why not aerosmith going into the rap hall of fame based on that one song?

i recall the first time i had ever seen the name RunDMC..i was in junior high school and a bunch of tools had it written on their notebooks..i was like.."why the fuk did these people write that on their notebooks?" dmc was an acronymn for discipline management class..and it was only like 2 years later that i realized it was some crappy music group

With all the variety there it should be renamed, should not be rock n roll hall of fame but Music hall of fame instead

Listen to the Raising Hell album. Trust me, not a "rap" fan here, but that stuff rocks!! Listen to the beats and the 4:4 time signature and the guitar riffs, this is hard rock musically. It's not just one song (a remake), they do belong in the rock and roll hall of fame.

F*ck, they rock a helluva lot harder than these other members:
Brenda Lee
Chef (Isaac Hayes)
Michael Jackson
Earth Wind and Fire

Dude - James Taylor is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame... The Bee Gees?? -- Come on, it is obviously a joke of a hall of fame anyway.

I'm just saying if those guys deserve to be in, then Run DMC deserves to be in.
