NTSB Recommends ban on cell phone use while driving.

Interesting. Our city banned it 6-8 months ago. We all bitched but most abide, I think. I don't text while driving anymore. $130 fine 1st offense and it goes up.

NTSB recommends full ban on use of cell phones while driving

Federal accident investigators Tuesday called for a nationwide ban on the use of cell phones and text messaging devices while driving.

The recommendation is the most far-reaching yet by the National Transportation Safety Board, which in the past 10 years has increasingly sought to limit the use of portable electronic devices. It has recommended such bans for novice drivers, school bus drivers and commercial truckers.

The new recommendation, if adopted by states, would outlaw non-emergency phone calls and texting by operators of every vehicle on the road.

It would not apply to hand-free devices, or to passengers.

I see many more women using cell phones when driving than I do men, and half of the women can't see over the steering wheel..always a danger, imo

I`m for banning all cell phone talk while driving, except for hands free. As far as texting while driving I`m for banning it completely. I have and you have seen the morons on the road chatting away with a cell phone to there ear going 20 mph on a 55 mph road. As far as texting that is way more dangerous than talking on the cell phone while driving. Think about it. Going down the road or highway and looking at your cell phone to type! Give me and everyone else a fu*king break!

absolutely despise it...was in a car with a dude doing that while driving and wasn't happy...douchebag did end up getting stopped for swerving and speeding, but was let off because the officer felt for him since he showed his military card

cannot teel you how many women i ran after and grabbed thier cellphone out of thier hands and tossed it over a roof !

I had to stop mid intersection on a green light last week a larger main intersection because some bitch was talking on her cell phone !

I quickly got out of my car and told her to pull over while i called police to the scene !

She tried to deny it ! but i had one person stay with me as witness !

$350 fine !

Interesting...

Since I was stopped by the NJ State Police when they were targeting seat belt enforcement (which I was wearing my seatbelt, they couldn't tell when they were next to me as I was merging, but could tell when I needed to get my license out of my wallet); does this mean if they see me talking to myself after a bad day at work they will pull me over with the assumption that I was talking on speakerphone or a bluetooth?
