NZTAB weekly review

The "chalkies" were lining up in droves last week to back the All Blacks against France in the secoind test. They were happy to take the $1.01 on offer.

Of course the result was never in doubt and the punters grabbed their "small fish ". The biggest punt was $50,000 and there were others of $30,500, $23,363, $20,000, and $10,400. Other big bets on the test : $50,000 at $1.25 on the All Blacks to win by 25 or more, $12,000 on the same option at $1.25 and $10,000 at $1.30.

The NBA finals for 2007 are underway and already the San Antonio Spurs look as though will be too good for Cleveland. Plenty of interest in the series so far and several of the bigger bets have been exotic. We took $15,950 at $1.85 that Tony Parker would score 21 points or less for the Spurs in game 2 and $10,000 at $1.80 that the same player would score 20 points or less in game 1. Both bets were losers. Head to head there was a successful wager of $25,000 on the Spurs at $1.22 in game 2 and $10,000 at $1.20 on them in the same game. There was also a successful bet of $10,000 at $1.70 that Ilgauskas of Cleveland would score 12 points or less in game 2.

The Warriors had a great chance to stop the rot last weekend when they took on a seriously depleted Melbourne Storm but they couldn't do it and the Storm won 4-2. We had bets on the Warriors of $15,000 at $1.52 and $9,000 at the same price.

The biggest baseball bet of the week missed out with $10,000 at $2.90 on the LA Dogers beating San Diego while in the world of racing there was an unsuccessful $14,000 at $2.80 on Gold Edition winning the Queensland Guineas.
