i dont think greece has much of a chance this time around...i did pick greece last time at +7500...the book still had the same odds as prior to the first game and bet it after they beat portugal in the first match...thought good value since they beat the faves in first game and basically secured a bid out of group play...worked out

Well I havent been here in months I think my last post was right before my Phillies shit the bed. I had a job and "roof" change so Ive been real occupied and tons of shit besides that happened and I wasnt wagering so...

Nice to be back!!!!

The matches are in Germany right?? something is in Germany and thats why they are favorites. I remember reading about it recently

I doubt Greece takes it but...

I would probably play Spain and Italy for the hell of it, but I dont dabble much in futures

i see a lot of value on italy right now... and also italy.
i think the longest shot i would take here is Czezch Republic if Nedved is playing.

yeah there is not enough vaue to play futures in this game...

portugal are constant under achievers. i dont think they have a complete team yet. ronaldo cant carry the whole team yet.

that is true hence the reason Austria and Switzerland are in, the host nations get in automatica. i hope im right considering I was wrong once

The only info I could gather is that Germany is favored because of who they drew in their group. Seems to be an easy path for Germany

Still like the Italians and Spain for the "F" of it

okay, here my thoughts...

G: A
this group includes CH, CZ, PT and TK
CH and TK clashed in the Quali already... ending in a disaster of teh 2 teams fighting behind the scenes... end of story... huge punishment for TK and bloody noses... top fav. should be CZ and PT in here... imho... PT a lil over CZ, both teams will surely try to win the group, as the 2nd of the group must play against Group B winner...

wich leads me to Group B
it includes Germany, 3rd in WC 2006, beating PT, sharing a Group with AUT, CRO and PL... i consider GER as fav in this group, a lil over CRO, AUT wont have a chance... maybe PL can do sth... but i'd say, GER over CRO if you'd put a gun to my head...

G: C
if you like gangbangs... you'd surely love this group... FRA, ITA, ROM and NED in the group of terror... FRA and ITA played the WC final... and clashed on first playday of Quali... those 2 must be considered the HUGE FAV's in this Group... ROM wont stand a chance... maybe NED can beat ITA or FRA luckily and overcome teh Group stage... but i wouldnt bet a dime! NED are just natural born suckers... ITA > FRA

G: D
GRC (current champion), SWE, SPA, RUS in a group... replace SWE with PT and you got the group of last EURO 2004 again... wich ended PT and GRC advancing... this time, those teams will be prepared... SWE played well at the WC and SPA should be on your card aswell... GRC wont stand a chance, imho... RUS will have lil chances aswell... they did well in the Quali... but this group is tough to be predicted, but as those 2 teams that advance, must play ITA/FRA next... i wouldnt put a single cent on those anyways!

wich leads me to the bets:

in the QF it will be:

PT vs CRO (PT should win this...)
CZ vs GER (those teams met before... in EURO '96, clashing in grp stage and in the final, GERMANY won that EURO '96)

or

CZ vs CRO (CRO or CZ, wont matter that much, as the opponent in next game, will win anyways...)
PT vs GER (the classic, and as in WC small final, GER will do it!)

ITA vs whoever
FRA vs whoever

SF:

HERE COMES A CHANGE! usually it wasnt possible to meet the Groupstage opponent again, before the FINAL! this is a change this time! in euro 96, germany played CZ in groupstage and in the final... in 2004, Greece played PT in groupstage and final...

this time, the Brackets of A and B & C and D clash in the Semi Final again, to send the winner to the Finals...

so it will most likely be, GER, PT or CZ for teh upper bracket of A and B

and ITA or FRA for the lower Bracket of Grp C (and D)...

however, i suppose that GER got the best chances in here... but will be beaten in the finals by either FRA or ITA... GER might get some trouble if they play CRO, so i'd backup there...

i am no friend of such bets, binding money for a long time but if i had to play, i'd play:

5 * Germany +470 (+5.5)
4 * Italy +780 (+12.2)
4 * France +1050 (+23)
3 * Spain +700 (+1)
3 * Portugal +860 (5.8)
2 * Croatia +1200 (+3)
2 * Czech Republic +1450 (+8)

that way, or similar... or waiting till first game of group stage... seeing how FRA and ITA clash in there...
