Officiating in sport

Personally I don't have a problem with the current umpiring system that has been experimented with in the West Indies v NZ cricket series. Perhaps one review too many for each captain, otherwise no major problem.

Where I do have a problem and this extends for all professional sport is with the standard of officiating.
My solution......pay the officials the same as the players. Make officiating an attractive career path, encourage more sharp cookies into the field. Do you seriously think Tim Donaghy would have done what he did if he was on a 5 million or more per year contract?
Officials have every right to be paid the same as players, you can't tell me they don't earn their pay cheques.

better solution...officiate from the booth and watch it on tv...or program computers and let them do it

mlb is an easy one to do that..they have it implemented to show on tv if it really was a ball or a strike..why have some dude call it when he will be wrong at times..just use the technology to determine it...would be so easy for that sport to get right into booting out the overweight morons
