Our county just voted to ban smoking in all public places
Our county just voted to ban smoking starting in July 2012 in public places including restaurants, bars and indoor workplaces. Anyone else have a ban like this where they live?

ah...my mistake...was going to say...didn't think the united state could make a nationwide ban like that...
yeah we have it in delaware...the whole state has a smoking ban...was the 2nd state to impose such a ban...has been in place for almost 10 years now i think...i am a smoker and don't find it that bad...you cut down on smoking for sure...i usually smoke maybe a half a pack a day when i am in delaware...i live in china now and smoking is allowed just about everywhere...elevators and grocery stores, etc...i smoke like almost 2 packs a day here |

Your casinos pump millions into your state from us Lincoln Loggers who flock to Horseshoe, Majestic, Ameristar, and Blue Chip to gamble and the big "edge" you have, to smoke. Your governor points this out. He points out a lot of things bad about us, like how income taxes went up 66%. Yeah!!!!!
![]() It is our own state's fault though. I think that's why it is a county thing. The last one to go will be the casino county, Lake. It's all Illinois license plates, especially at the 'Shoe.

naw...less than 4 years ago in european union..ireland was first country in the world to ban smoking...was like 2004 or something...mexico still allows smoking...usa it is a state thing...and in some states it is local municipalities that impose such a law...like in houston, tx...the city limits it banned...but anywhere around houston smoking is allowed

Going into places without smoke is great now. I really hate the smell of smoke and glad Delaware made it a law years ago.

State of MT went w/ the smoking ban in Oct last year. Love it. Don't have to shower after being out all night. And feel MUCH better the next day.

You would be surprised the bars in Northern Cali, some of them let people smoke and they dont care what others think. They call it home rule around here. I can drive by and if certain vehicles are out front you can plan on smelling smoke inside. Its BS but it works for most around here it seems.
