Angry overdrinking and overgambling....

Selfcontrol. Anyone else currently going through this? I've done the drinking classes and gambling classes. Every time I drink I go way overboard. I hate myself. I don't know what to do at this point....any advice will help.

I always say I wont do it again and it keeps happening. Im scared at this point. I keep letting my family and myself down.

are you drinking by yourself or with others? i went through a phase of drinking heavily every weekend but i realized i only did it with certain people. i've since kinda cut ties with them and have only had a bottle or 2 with some dinner every other weekend or so. i've found it has helped with my mood and my mind's a little sharper.

I never start drinking alone. I only drink alone if im playing online poker drunk after a long day of binging with friends. I don't want to be the guy who has to avoid my friends or hate people who drink. I don't know what to do

yea i hear ya..in a way i feel bad cause i did just cut them off outta nowhere. but i took a step back and i felt the repetitive shit every weekend not to mention driving while ive had drinks (stupid i know) wasnt worth it to me anymore. noone calls me to go out anymore cause i guess they got tired of me saying no but oh well. in the long run i know this is better for me...

I used to do this with cigarettes. Think I was gonna quit so just toss em all out while I was driving only to crave hours later and buy a pack. Must've wasted a couple cartons doing this.

As far as drinking goes most bad things that ever happened in my life were in some form associated with alcohol. I also have problems with moderation and am one of those guys who once starts just keeps drinking until I fall asleep.

While I wouldn't say that I am sober I just rarely have an urge to drink nowadays. Life and responsibilities tend to change but I kinda get what you are talking about since I still go overboard with both gambling & drinking.

You just seem to make it more frequent. GL man.....admitting something aint right and doing something about it are two different things though.

Ya the problem is I don't know what to do. I did the classes and they didn't help. I just have to completely change and cut out booze. This is so tough

wish i could help but never really had this problem. one bad hangover every couple years is enough to remind me why i dont keep drinking past a certain point.

with my little background in psychology i can tell you it wont help anything to hate yourself. i would say you need to take care of yourself and realize you control your own decisions and you can stop.
