Been thinking about this lately. theres some new retail development going on along the highway where i live so was thinking about there....

Owning a billboard is kind like being a slum lord.

The billboards in Dallas are all beer and liquor companies because they are the only ones who can afford certain spots. Not really a retarded question. Your reply was rather retarded though so thanks for nothing

i dont own any but i know some people that do in the jersey/pa area. it is very profitable if you can have a few.
If you have just one, you will get killed by the competition. if you get a few then you can have a block and if you are lucky and your area has good traffic you could make some money. I guess it all depends on what is the initial investment. It may take a few years to get it back. Lots of variables though: growth of the area, growth of the city and the economy as a whole, etc.

what do you mean by part of land?
depending on the area, you may have to jump through hoops, cause you gotta get a permit to use the air as well as the ground...in some places it is considered a "dwelling" for business purpose so you have to get a construction permit, etc.
are you planning on leasing the land? renting it? or buying it? the people i know have some under long term lease (30 years), and others he bought it outright. another possibility is to have as a profit share but the other party has you by the balls....

I'm not in the works of anything quite yet. I was just wondering the process and what exactly goes into it. But this is some good info so thanks zoom

4 reasons why its a retarded question

first of all it will be no sooner than 10 years extremely common

secondly i never said i had the chips to enter now dumbsht, and it will be awhile before i do, but why does it hurt to start researching now?

i dont think its a quick buck obviously if you read my post and took time to process it you wouldve realized i said it would be profitable in a few years as the area develops.

lastly, i easily could own a billboard one day if i absolutely wanted to and thought it would be a solid investment.

I dont know why you think youre the smartest fkn person around here but i didnt ask u to come in here and say my question is dumb, because really it wasnt. I honestly dont need or care to hear your shit. if you wanna be a decent person and give your honest opinion without trying to belittle someone that would be great. otherwise please dont come in threads like this and start talking shit.
