Paradise Poker will stop taking US deposits Friday

Paradise Poker is one of the domain names that Sportingbet, PLC kept and did not sell off. Paradise will no longer accept US deposits but will remain open for one month to the US. 10 US states have been blocked immediately where there is law preventing online poker.

Wallstreet.com, Aces & sportingbetusa also will also cease USA operations and remain under the Sportingbet brand

Sportsbook.com was sold to a private company for $1 and will remain in the US

DAMMMITT this was my favorite site by far. They had several different max buy ins for no limit cash games. Anyone else know of a good site that does this?

for what it's worth, CDPoker e-mailed me this week saying that they were closing my account & would no longer be dealing with members in the USA, so there's another poker site gone too.

Been out for about 2 months now............been playing exclusively at Stars..........went cold at Paradise and decided it was their crappy software and their affiliation with Sportsbook, not my poor play causing the problem ( ), so I cashed out..............

Paradise poker cash out

I cashed out my accounts at paradise and sports book this morning, They transferred all my money from sports book to my paradise account, I did a transfer to net teller without any problems, They said it will be processed within 12-24 hours due to the high volume of withdrawals. So It seems to be no problems. I'll see in 12-14.

Shark, I understand what you are saying about paradise software. All though I did fairly well at the tables, I think I would have done much better if there were not so many river flushes and BS str8 draws caught by my opponents, I am going to check out poker stars see how I like It. I am hoping bet Jamaica gets it poker rooms up and running soon, I like them as well as oly for my books.

Just my 2 c

Brian, I think you will find Stars is a more true representation of poker. Unlike Paradise, you won't need quad Aces or a Royal Flush to win a hand.........

Plus, Stars has no intention of abandoning US Players:

Dear PokerStars Player,

We received an email from you during the last two weeks inquiring about
PokerStars' position with regards to the recently enacted Internet
Gambling Act.

PokerStars has received extensive expert advice from within and outside
the U.S. which concluded that these provisions do not alter the U.S.
legal situation with respect to online poker. Furthermore it is
important to emphasize that the Act does not in any way prohibit you from
playing online poker.

Therefore, our business continues as before - open to players worldwide
including the US. You may play on our site as you did prior to the
Act.

PokerStars believes that poker is a game of skill enjoyed by millions
of players and we remain committed to providing you a safe and fun
environment in which to play. We value your loyalty to PokerStars, and look
forward to continuing to serve you with the best online poker
experience, as we have for the past five years, six billion hands, and 40
million tournaments.

PokerStars Management

this is what i got from sportsbook.com

I'm concern about sportsbook.com not going to accepted wager from US customer. Is this true?
Marian Little: We are now run by an independent company made up of our existing management and private investors who all want the business to be run as usual--or BETTER than usual. We are taking bets and deposits and processing payouts as normal.
Marian Little: So we will accept bets, Sportingbet PLC had that policy, WE do not. We accept players from all of the States in the USA. All of America is welcome!

Payout Up date

Hi, Just wanted to up date anyone who Is worried about getting Paid from paradise /sportsbook. As I posted this morning they transferred my money from my sports book to my paradise account, that mad withdrawing easy, and I did a Netteller transfer, and as of 7:09 pm est I am happy to report all monies were transferred as promised by the above mentioned sites.

so if you are concerned about getting paid, As far as I can see these sites are honoring their payouts.
And that's how it should be.

Have a book kill-in weekend

Brian
