Pavin will select Tiger for Ryder Cup

According to the golf channel, Corey Pavin will definitely select Tiger Woods to play in the Ryder Cup this year. I had no doubts this would happen and I think was the right move by Pavin...

He should sit him for every match but the singles. He has no business being there.

WHY? he is #10 right now on points list. He deserves a spot. Ryder Cup play is totally different from regular stroke play that is played on regular tour. Tiger is still the most feared golfer in the world and will definitely help the team. I am sure the rest of the team will be happy to see him there...

Be hard to find a guy that would want to be his partner in the alternate shot format.

I would take Bo VanPelt, Nick Watney or Sean O'Hair before him.

Dont need a guy with shit attitude when things go bad.

100% correct, unless of course he gets it turned around in the next 4 events which I don't see happening.

Oh, and you are the only one who knows about golf? LOL You do realize that the Ryder Cup qualifications are based on the last 2 years of play and not just this year, right? Its true that Tigers game is not at its best right now, but to leave a player of his talent off the Ryder Cup would be stupid to say the least. And you do realize that the captain has 4 picks to fill the team, so its very possible Watney, OHair and Van Pelt could also be selected. As bad of a year as Tiger has had this year he is still only 1 of 2 Americans who had 2 top 5 finishes in the 3 previous majors this year( Phil was the other). I guarantee if you were the captain and left Tiger off, most would say you know absolutely nothing about golf.

And by the way I was working in a pro shop when I was 14, 40 years ago, so I know a little about golf also...

Apparently Pavin less than impressed with Jim Gray's reporting.

Working in a pro shop does not make you an expert.

You know how bad he has had to play to get to #10? He was so far ahead of all other players a year ago it was not even funny.

Why bring a guy on a team that has no clue where he is hitting it? The Tiger factor is long gone. He's just another player now and the Euro's would love to kick his ass.
He just needs to take the rest of the year off and start over next season.
