I think that, for a period of time Pedro was the more DOMINANT pitcher, but over the course of their careers, I think that Maddux was the "better" pitcher.

Seth: Fogell, this ID says that you're 25 years old. Why wouldn't you just put 21, man?
Fogell: Seth, Seth, Seth. Listen up, ass-face: every day, hundreds of kids go into the liquor store with fake IDs, and every single one says they're 21. Pssh, how many 21 year olds do you think there are in this town? It's called f*cking strategy, alright?

When you think of better "pitcher," you have to conclude Maddux as he was much more successful over a longer period of time with less "stuff" and pure smarts and great work habits.

Maddux with 136 more wins (8th all time with 355), 4 consecutive CY awards, 18 gold gloves, 17 straight years with at least 15 wins, and he even had more K's than Pedro. "The Professor" "The Surgeon"

Real tough question....

If I wanted to win one game or make a championship run, definitely Pedro. However, if I was trying to build a solid reliable starting rotation, Id go with Maddux.

precisely, pedro had better stuff, and was more dominant over a shorter span

but maddux was sick for a long time

I recall reading how, with a 2-2 count on a batter, he would purposely throw a ball, just to set up the batter for the following pitch. Nice

Just imagine if he had Pedro's stuff

His ERA in '94 1.56 and in '95 1.63 in Atlanta which isnt exactly a pitcher's park.
