Penn State in Trouble!!

Wow this is horrible. Supposedly Joe Pa knew about it as well and just reported it to the AD, not the police.

Paterno statement in abuse case raises more questions - College Football - Rivals.com

Absolutely horrible if he did not follow up or call the police himself.

an immediate resignation is necessary, the severity demands it.

I have been one of Joe Pa's biggest fans and defenders even as late as last week. But even I can't defend not reporting this to police when it became obvious that the university wasn't going to pursue criminal charges. Sorry Joe it's time to go.

Agree mark. I have always believed with what he has done for the University that unless he became completely stupid with his coaching that I would like to see him go out when he wanted to, that however, has changed now with this. Too bad as well because this will leave a negative mark on his accomplishments. Amazing just a week ago celebrating being the winningest coach and the following week this.

He is guilty as any of them. Every one that knew should have gone to law enforcement at some point. The AD etc should have gone right away. Joe Pa should have gone just a short bit after he realized nothing had been done. Absolutely horrible.

I remember hearing about this investigation a few years back and then it was swept under the rug. Its ashame but it seems that this will be the undoing of Penn State and Coach Paterno. The arguments that State has never been involved in a major scandal involving the football program are now rendered false. Not too much to add other than the University was looking for a way to move away from Paterno and have him retire, too bad it is something like this. I can't defend anything Paterno did regarding this situation as this isn't an isolated incident based upon the grand jury testimony.
Another supposed icon falls.
