"I don't think I was an addict. I think I could control what I was doing. I just was wrong and I got caught," Rose told Yahoo!'s Graham Bensinger. "I actually went to some Gamblers Anonymous classes and I sat there for three or four of them and I'm trying to figure out what I have in similarities with these other people and I could never find anything. It just seems like it wasn't the right place for me. I didn't take my last dime and go bet it. I was in control. I knew what I was doing."

Rose, 69, said he bet on the Reds "every night" because he "needed something extra" after he stopped playing in 1986.

He says he wasnt an addict eh? He is in denial obviously, but even so, I think he deserves to be in the hall of fame. Especially if both Clemens/Bonds get thrown in the slammer, and some how get in the HOF. Then they have to put Rose in along with those 2 clowns. They could also make a new addition to the Hall & call it the criminals wing.

Let him in! He bet on his team to win! Yes it is still wrong but it's not like he was trying to fix games. And yes I know all the arguments about how you manage differently when you are betting your team to win-which is why it is still wrong but he belongs in the hall.
