Pete Rose tells ESPN "I bet on the Reds every night"

CappersMall.com -- The Pete Rose story continued Wednesday when Rose told Dan Patrick and Keith Olbermann on ESPN radio that he bet on the Cincinnati Reds every night.

Rose stated that he believe in his team so much that he wagered on them to win every single night. In past conversations, Rose has stated he bet on them four times a week.

Rose also stated he did everything in his power to win every game.

For many years Rose denied betting on the Reds or baseball even though he accepted a lifetime ban for gambling in 1989. Many believed the story never fully came out because the commissioner of baseball back then, Bart Giamatti died a short while later after suffering a heart attack.

In his 2004 autobiography, Rose admitted to making baseball bets while he was a manager of the Reds.

Rose takes full responsibility now also states he no longer worries about getting in to the hall of fame.

Rose has also recently defended the players involved in the steroid controversy, several times telling reporters Mark McGwire should be in the hall of fame

I still believe Pete should be in the Hall of Fame. Don't know about Mark and the others. Seems like they bought their Homeruns. I don't see the crime in BETTING ON YOUR OWN TEAM. Bud is the problem here. I am from Wisconsin and I think Bud has been the worst Commissioner of all lifetime. An owner of a team ( I know he no longer owns the Brewers) is the go between for the Union and owners. What a joke. I remember he said he cried with Strawberry and his Wife when he had to suspend him from baseball. Here you had a what 50 time loser and he cries. Mr. Hustle played the game wide open all the time and he keeps him out of the Hall. What a joke.
