Philly Flyers fans filmed beating Rangers fans/Ex cop

A group of Philadelphia Flyers fans brutally beat a New Jersey cop and his son - dressed in Rangers garb - outside a famous Philly cheesesteak shop Monday.

Three Broad Street bullies clad in Flyers jerseys sucker-punched the Woodbridge, N.J., officer before pummeling him and his son after they fell on the ground outside Geno’s Steaks.

NBCNewYork.com identified the cop on Wednesday night as Neal Auricchio, a former Marine.

"He got banged up pretty badly," his father Neal Auricchio, Sr., told NBCNewYork.com. "Stitches in the one eye, and the other eye is pretty puffed up. He went for a CAT scan today, and we're waiting for the results on that."

Cops may have caught a break Wednesday when one Philly knucklehead, Edward Neary, took to the Facebook page of the Broad Street Hockey blog and confessed.

“It was me and my friends, do something about it,” he bragged in the comments section of a graphic video of the fight, before adding a homophobic slur. “How dumb do I look knocking someone out pretty sure they look dumb eatin concrete,” he wrote.

The brawl lasts less than 30 seconds, as a Flyers fan in a Claude Giroux Number 28 Winter Classic jersey exchanges shoves with a Rangers fan and then decks him.

As the Ranger fan goes to the ground, another Flyer fan starts punching him.

Number 28 moves over to another Ranger fan and pummels him to the ground and is joined by another Philly rooter.

When that first Ranger fan slowly gets up and moves toward his friend, Number 28 gives him a roundhouse right as a knockout blow.

Neary later backed off of his boast and blamed three pals for the attack.

The assault happened shortly after the NHL’s Winter Classic game, in which the Rangers defeated the Flyers, 3-2.

The cop was hospitalized and received stitches to close his wounds.

No arrests have been made.

What a bunch of fn morons. 2 on 1 attack as well when the guy is down. Idiots that take sports too seriously. Athletes jump ship to another team whenever an extra 100 thou is waved in their face yet fans defend their team colours and take it as an insult when another team invades their territory. Ron Mexico is right, if your 25+ and where a sports jersey your a loooosssserrr!

2 on 1 beating of a decorated Iraqi vet--hope they catch these a-holes

Applaud the efforts of the Broad Street Hockey Blog:

"The incident caused shock and outrage among sports fan. It caused embarrassment for Flyers fans who have spent years battling the stereotypes associated with Philadelphia fans, from fights in the stands to batteries thrown at players.

One Flyers blog had seen enough, and its sleuthing may help police crack this case.

Travis Hughes of Broad Street Hockey on SB Nation posted the original, graphic video on Tuesday afternoon on a post whose "ultimate goal of getting these idiots thrown in jail," saying: "We say so often that we don't deserve our reputation as awful monsters moonlighting as sports fans, but when this sort of thing happens, it completely undermines everything we say on the subject. It's up to us to police this stuff, then."

Meanwhile, enough can't be said about the efforts of Hughes and the Broad Street Hockey blog. The first inclination from some media was to post the video and lambaste Philadelphia fans for another black mark on their reputations. Hughes, a Flyers fan, instead wanted to bring these thugs to justice. It's the content of their character, not the color of their hockey jersey, people …"

Always funny to watch clowns who are afraid to fight one on one. I don't care how bad I'm gonna get my ass kicked, if it's going down, it's me vs you. Period.

****in' pussies. Sure would be fun to run into one of these idiots someday.

PB20 is an exception. He always liked to poke fun back and forth with me. Not sure about you, but one is enough for me I'd say.
