TEVA is expected to buy BRL. An article today says they may offer $7 billiion or more. This would put the share price between $60-$65. So I took some today @ 55.71 on the chance that the story's legit. One to watch.



Barr Pharmaceuticals Inc. (BRL, $56.73, $9.91, 21.17%) gained on a Israeli newspaper report that Teva Pharmaceuticals Industries Ltd. (TEVA, $41.24, -$1.17, -2.76%) is interested in buying the pharmaceuticals for $7 billion to $7.5 billion.

Doing homework, there's a lot of juice behind this. All that's left is TEVA confirming (or denying) the deal and setting the price. If the $7-7.5 billion tag is correct, $60s are a given. But it depends if the price includes 1.5 billion in debt or not.

Experts put the expected price anywhere in from $60-$70.

Barr shareholders will receive $39.90 in cash and 0.6272 of a Teva American Depositary Receipt for each share they own, or a total purchase price of $66.50 per share. That represents a 16 percent premium to Barr's $57.17 closing price Thursday.
