Pink Floyd founding member Richard Wright dies

LONDON (Sept. 15) - A Pink Floyd spokesman says founding member Richard Wright has died. He was 65.

Wright died Monday after a battle with cancer at his home in Britain. His family did not want to give more details about his death. The spokesman is Doug Wright, who is not related to the artist.
Richard Wright met Pink Floyd members Roger Waters and Nick Mason at college and joined their early band Sigma 6.
Sigma 6 eventually became Pink Floyd and Wright wrote and sang some of the band's key songs. He wrote "The Great Gig In The Sky" and "Us And Them" from Pink Floyd's 1973 "The Dark Side Of The Moon."
He left the group in the early 1980s to form his own band but rejoined Pink Floyd for their 1987 album "A Momentary Lapse of Reason."

Indeed.

Evan: What? One name? ONE NAME!?!? Who are you? Seal?
Seth: Fogell, this ID says that you're 25 years old. Why wouldn't you just put 21, man?
Fogell: Seth, Seth, Seth. Listen up, ass-face: every day, hundreds of kids go into the liquor store with fake IDs, and every single one says they're 21. Pssh, how many 21 year olds do you think there are in this town? It's called f*cking strategy, alright?

RIP Richard Wright. Heard about it on the radio this morning, has put a damper on the rest of the day.

True, but really pre-Gilmour, their music was all experimental and rather unlistenable. We probably never would have heard of this band if David had never become a member. David Gilmour is the definitive "sound" of Pink Floyd.

oh boy let's not go there bob. the band had many phases and i loved every single one of them. we can certainly agree that losing a member of this band is not a good thing.

i've seen floyd as floyd, i've seen gilmour solo, i've seen waters solo, there is no comparison even if it is the real voices

those idiots better get gilmour and waters back together for one more tour before one of them dies off. i think it's fair to say both have contributed massively to one of the greatest rock bands in history, wow i miss those guys together

here today...gone tomorrow......hahahahahahahahahaha

A couple of weeks ago Gilmour publically stated that “he never again take part in a Pink Floyd reunion."

I think the dream is over G
