Plasma or LCD 37"-40"
Buying a 40" or 37" TV for my living room.
have a larger one in the basement with surround sound for movies. In my opinion The PANASONIC VIERA PLASMA has the best picture from what Ive seen in the stores. Just wondering what you guys think? |

Plasma you have to replace the whole TV when it goes, not uncommon for this to happen in under 2 years.
LCD you just replace the bulb. Go LCD

I thought Plasma are all 42 inches and bigger? LCD is any size
A neighbor of mine just got a 52 inch RCA from Walmart for $750 and the picture is as good as some I have seen for thousands. I was actually surprised. I would have said sony or samsung as well

Every big box store Ive been to
Plasma Panasonic has by far the best Pic. My brother just bought a 61" Sony SXRD (1080p rear projection) and i was amazed by the quality. It has to be the the best Pic quality i have ever seen. |

I thought that Plasma had some burn-in issues with the screens.
I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want to play video games on a plasma, but even something like the bar at the bottom of the screen on ESPNEWS could be a problem. I'm no expert but I know I see that mentioned every time I read an article about the difference between LCD and plasma. And also a lot of the guts are very similar if not identical so sometimes an off brand like an Olevia or Vizio can offer a great picture for a lot less. Just check out the specs first and check online for deals. |

mitsubishi is the way to go actually. Think about it this way. When professional sports teams buy jumbo trons for their staidums, they go to mitsubishi. They have been making TV's the longest and they are the best quaility and their warrenties are good too. They stand by their products. That is just my opinion. I didn't really know about them when I was shopping until I went to a higher quality store. (ex. not best buy or circut city)
Here is their website http://www.mitsubishi-tv.com/j/i/183...levisions.html And I don't work for them, I do market research on consumer electronics products and they are rated really high. Hope this helps, Nick
