Playboy Bandit
FBI on the lookout for 'Playboy Bandit'
October 7, 2008 FROM STNG WIRE REPORTS The FBI is asking for the public's help in finding a man who robbed a south suburban bank at gunpoint last month. The suspect has been dubbed the "Playboy Bandit" because he wore a baseball cap with the distinctive Playboy bunny logo during the robbery. The robbery occurred at the Charter One Bank branch at 12004 S. Pulaski Rd. in Alsip on Sept. 11, according to a release from the FBI. According to witnesses, the man entered the bank and approached a teller, placing a small gym bag on her counter. He then pulled out a silver-colored handgun from the bag and announced a robbery, threatening her with harm if his demands were not met. After he got an undisclosed amount of cash, the robber fled the bank on foot, and was last seen running north on Pulaski, according to the release. The "Playboy Bandit" is described as a white male between 40 and 45, about 5-foot-6 and 190 pounds with dark hair, the release said. He was wearing a gray button-down jacket and blue jeans. The cap was blue with a white rabbit logo. Anyone with information should call the Chicago FBI office at (312) 421-6700.
