Which player leaving was a bigger blow to the city?

Brett Favre leaving Green Bay to eventually end up in Minny or Lebron James leaving Cleveland to go to Miami. I think the Favre leaving was a bigger blow to the team and city.

Much different situations with lebron taking off, and farve somewhat "pushed" out for the better choice in rogers.

As far as impact/shock value goes I would say farve !

no chance they were sitting Favre over Rodgers.

Lebron and not even close. NFL is setup better to build a team and have success. People would still go to GB with or without Favre.

Cleveland is pretty much going back to 10-20 win team and will struggle to sell tickets. GB had a young qb who the fans were confident could step in and allow them to be successful. Cleveland has nothing close to that at this point.

not sure if you are uninformed or just have a short memory, but Favre was told that if he wanted to return it would be in a backup role.....

Yea I think they said that so he wouldn't come back honestly. Plus they were going to trade him anyway.

Agree this is probably a closer comparison. Both devastating to each city.

Totally different! Gretzky was traded-he did not choose to leave. Edmonton had already won four cups in the previous 5 seasons with Gretzky. Even w/o Wayne there was still a ton of talent left after the trade. In fact they went on to win another cup two years later. While it was a blow to Edmonton and Canada to have Wayne go to LA it wasn't the personal slap in the face that Lebrons situation is.
